Orthodontic Services For New Patients in Kitchener Waterloo

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office!

Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination of your jaws. This important one hour visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs.

You will be informed whether you need treatment and what treatment will involve. If you decide to go ahead with treatment, we will do a study of your jaws and teeth and make a treatment plan for you.

Deciding on Treatment

The orthodontist will explain your bite problem and help you decide whether you should have treatment.

You will be informed when treatment should begin, how long it will take and the kinds of appliances that are available for you. Our office provides Invisalign, Clear braces, Lingual (inside braces), Empower, Radiance, and Damon braces. New techniques make treatment faster and more comfortable than ever.

You will also be informed of possible but not uncommon risks of treatment.

Your Orthodontic Exam

Before treatment starts, your orthodontist will make a detailed study of your bite. Our staff will take x-rays and photographs, and make models (molds) of your teeth and jaws. These will allow us to make the best treatment plan for you.

Your Treatment Schedule

The Orthodontist or staff will discuss your appointment with you.Your first few appointments will most likely be about a few weeks apart, typically 6-8 weeks.

During your treatment, you still need to see your family dentist for cleaning, preferably every 3-4 months. Having your teeth cleaned and checked regularly also helps prevent tooth decay and gum problems.
